Frontier Reefs & Far East Exploratories (PNG)

The “Far East Exploratories” consist of some 100 square kilometers of pristine coral reefs, atolls, deep shoals, sand cays and flats. Exploration is made possible by a number of ‘wild’ camps' situated on some of the world's most remote islands. The region is defined by Long Reef in the west, Deboyne to the north, Great Sudest Barrier to the east and the Sunken Barrier in the south. Rossel and surrounds are also within our sights. We will continue to forge a new path into amazing and untouched locations.

Kanton Atoll Kiribati Exploratory

Kanton Atoll remains as one of the last havens on earth with no regular and sustainable access, shielded from the modern world. This remoteness, coupled with official world heritage status, this atoll of Kiribati has one of the healthiest and most virgin ecosystem to still exist on this planet. Conversely, Kanton is at risk of modern man and the industrial world as global climate variables may determine the fate of this ultra-sensitive environment. Access to this jewel of the Pacific is subject to permission and permit only via the Phoenix Islands Protected Area (PIPA).

About Rock Expeditions

Logo

Luke Wyrsta is always at the forefront of catch and release fishing for Giant Trevally. For over a decade his GTPopping.com initiative has been the greatest public resource for the promotion of this great sport and the catch and release ethos.

Luke has been lucky enough to fish with some of the greatest pioneers in top-water history and continues to fish the furthest corners of the planet in pursuit of monster GT.

Luke's accomplishments within the top-water fraternity need no introduction. He continues to promote the catch and release ethos for this highly regarded sport fish. He collaborates and consults for various manufacturers and guides and advises fellow anglers on forging their own top-water memories.

Luke has been credited with discovering the enormous top-water and sport fishing potential of the 'Frontier Reefs' region in PNG and continues to work closely with the traditional land owners. Luke is also working on commercially viable expeditions to other remote reef systems and atolls around the world. Luke has also been credited with re-pioneering the extraordinary Phoenix Islands of Kiribati in 2015 (Kanton Atoll).

Luke is available for contract guiding, consulting and collaborative works.
